GeoDeck Featured in Two Building Products Industry Magazines

Thursday, December 03, 2009
Green Bay Decking and GeoDeck composite decking were recently featured in the November 2009 issue of two leading building industry publications, "The Merchant Magazine" and "Building Products Digest." In the three-page article "Decking Producers Double Down on Composites," which is featured in both magazines, a brief introduction, history, and brand comparison of composite decking is provided before finishing the article with an in-depth look at the past, present, and future of GeoDeck.

In an excerpt from the article, Green Bay Decking President Lanny Jass explains why the company invests heavily in independent testing to back its claim as the best overall composite solution in the industry: "We have always used third-party testing for our own products, but have recently expanded that to include third-party testing of all competitor products, as well. We believe that is important to give customers the best information to evaluate a product's long term performance for their application. We are currently working with multiple outside research agencies to test our boards and our competitors' boards."

The article further states that, "Demand for wood-plastic composite and plastic lumber will climb 10% a year through 2011 to $5.4 billion worldwide, forecast the Freedonia Group. Composites, however, will enjoy faster growth through 2011, posting gains of 14.3% annually to reach $2.6 billion. Biggest growth will come in decking, window/door components, and niche end uses (porches, site and leisure furniture)."
